The Daily Reader
This is where you can download The Daily Reader, a free application that enables you to read AllNovaScotia.com on your BlackBerry.

Instructions:
- Get your BlackBerry.
- Go to the Browser (not the WAP Browser) application.
- Open the page "http://www.allnovascotia.com/bb/index.php" in your browser
- Once you are done downloading The Daily Reader, return to the BlackBerry Home Screen and click on the icon labeled "The Daily Reader-- AllNovaScotia.com" to run it.

System Requirements
To install and run The Daily Reader, you must have the following minimum system requirements:
- BlackBerry OS v4.1.0 or greater.
- At least 30kb of available file memory.
- Web service enabled by your wireless provider.
- At least 80kb of available system memory.
- Wireless antenna enabled.

Go to your BlackBerry Home Screen, find the Wrench icon, and click it. Then click About and a few screens with your BlackBerry's vital statistics should appear. The second line of the first screen shows your OS version. - When I try running the application, it says that a module is missing.

To log in, you must have a working internet connection on your BlackBerry, and a subscription to AllNovaScotia.com. To get a subscription, visit http://www.allnovascotia.com/. - It has been telling me to wait for a very long time.
Sometimes the Internet is not as reliable as it should be. Try restarting your news reader application. If problems persist, try again later. You may be experiencing a minor problem with Internet connectivity in your area. - How do I change the text size?
The Daily Reader makes use of the default system screen font. To change this font, use the following steps:- Exit The Daily Reader
- Go to the Wrench icon and click your wheel button
- Select Screen/Keyboard
- Scroll down to Font size.
- Click the wheel button.
- Select "change option" and scroll to the text size you would prefer.
- Re-enter The Daily Reader to confirm that the new text size is acceptable.

Archived issues of AllNovaScotia.com are available once you have logged in to The Daily Reader. To view Past Issues, click the wheel button to bring up the menu and select Past Issues - How large is an average issue of AllNovaScotia.com?
Some carriers charge for the amount of data transferred to their mobile devices. To get an idea of how much bandwidth you are using, the Daily Reader downloads one issue at a time, and the average size of an issue is approximately 40 kilobytes. - How much does The Daily Reader cost?
The Daily Reader is provided free of charge to AllNovaScotia.com customers, but requires a valid login to run. - How do I remove The Daily Reader?
To remove The Daily Reader from your BlackBerry, follow these steps:
- Go to the BlackBerry Home Screen
- Select the Wrench icon.
- Select Advanced Options.
- Select Applications.
- Scroll down and click the track wheel on TheDailyReader.
- Select Delete.
- When it asks if you are sure about deleting TheDailyReader, select Delete again.
- How do I move The Daily Reader icon on my BlackBerry Home Screen?
Go to the BlackBerry Home Screen and move the Selector so it is highlighting The Daily Reader. Hold down the Alt button and click the track wheel, and the option Move Application should appear. - I have Internet on my BlackBerry, but The Daily Reader will not log me in
Perhaps your Internet Connection is disabled. Go to the BlackBerry Home Screen, select the Antenna icon, and make sure that your Wireless Internet connection is enabled. - The Daily Reader says my internet connection is down, and includes a "java.io.IOException"
Confirm with your BlackBerry Internet service provider that the connection is properly configured on their end, and the BlackBerry itself is properly configured for a connection to the Internet.
